Chronicles of a busy 2015 at Belatrix

The moment to raise our glasses in celebrating the end of the year has arrived, and I want to share with you some of the reasons why Belatrix is making this toast.

Over the past year we have worked hard to generate more value to our customers. We have continued increasing our expertise in specific industries like FinTech and Healthcare, which enhances our technical expertise. Our experience, particularly in new technologies and architectures, differentiates us from competitors. At this stage in the company life we are more mature, wiser and capable.

In 2015 we had a renewed focus on innovation inside the company. In particular User Experience (UX) and Design have become critical. Many of our experts have shared their knowledge in conferences and training courses. We will continue to focus on this in 2016, as we create a powerful combination of Technology and User Experience to increase our customers’ satisfactions and success.

One of our strongest pillars has always been training. This year we continued to focus on Agile and Scrum. In August we certified another 30 engineers as Scrum Masters with the Agile expert, Hubert Smits. We are planning the same certification and training course in Buenos Aires and Mendoza for 2016.

In addition, we held training courses in a range of topics from UX, AngularJS, Node.js, Quality Assurance (QA) automation, Java, Android, iOS, Python and HTML5, plus management, leadership and English. These training courses provide opportunity for anyone at Belatrix to expand their knowledge, or move into new areas. The high attendance rates demonstrate how motivated our people are in continuing their professional growth in new areas.

We have continued to publish blog articles, whitepapers and webinars at a rapid pace. Each of these articles are produced by individuals at Belatrix who are passionate about what they do, and want to share their knowledge.

I’m proud to announce that we were awarded the “Great Place to Work Award 2015”, to be among the top companies in Peru. But what makes us happy is not the prize itself; it’s the fact that we know our collaborators are comfortable, happy and highly motivated. The award was given following a rigorous selection process, which evaluated our internal community and culture.

Another highlight of the year came in December when the independent research firm, Horses for Sources, published a report where they described us as “a new age software product engineering service provider without any legacy hangover”. We are the only company from Latin America in the report, which evaluated the top 13 global providers of software engineering services. This evaluation demonstrates that Belatrix is already a top global player in the industry.

Looking ahead to 2016, I’m proud to announce the launch of our QA Excellence Center in Q1.  Testing and QA have long been one of our core strengths, and I believe this initiative will further extend our leadership.

A very successful 2015 and a promising 2016. That’s why I want to raise a glass to congratulate everyone at Belatrix, our partners and our clients who help us build this big Belatrix family I feel so honored to be part of. We’ll continue working hard to make a great 2016 together.
