How to easily create a private cloud using BeDrive

In this post I will show you how to create a private cloud using BeDrive and upload it on any host. BeDrive is a platform used to create a private cloud, and it is multi-account, which means that you can upload the script and create several accounts so that several people can use it and share files. It is an excellent platform to share project developments or documentation and have a backup in the cloud.

You will only need to have a host, if it’s possible, with Cpanel (or it can be any other) to make it easier for us to create the database. You will also need to have enough space, since it will allow us to upload many files.

First, we will need to download the script. Although it is paid, there are thousands of links on the internet.

Once it is downloaded, we upload all the contents of the bedrive folder via FTP to our host.

While uploading the files, we will create a database and a user that has permissions on that bd.

Once we’re finished, we will then install this platform.

We enter the URL where we have uploaded the script and we will begin with the installation.

Step 1:

The first step verifies that the minimum requirements are met. Then, we can click on Continue. Otherwise, we must contact our host to fix these problems.

Requirements:

PHP >= 5.4
MCrypt PHP Extension
PDO Extension (enabled by default)
php_fileinfo Extension (enabled by default)
MySQL, Postgres, SQLite or SQL Database Server.

Step 2:

Here, we must set all the parameters of the database that we created previously. We only have to introduce the host (localhost), since in my case the bd is in the same host as the site, the name of the bd, the user that has access to that bd and the password of such user.

Step 3:

Here, we simply create an admin account:

When completing all the fields, we will click on Finalize Installation and we will be able to go to the website.

Then we simply go to Login and enter with our account.

Once we enter, we can see our folder in the cloud where we can upload our personal files.
