Last year Belatrix’s Co-Founder and President, Alex Robbio, wrote a blog questioning the future of the nearshore services industry. The blog titled, “Why Nearshore No Longer Works” argued that if the industry continued to simply highlight the advantages of a nearshore location, this would be insufficient in meeting increasingly demanding customers. Instead, providers needed to make wholesale investments, to develop the skills, capabilities and intellectual property (IP) that would enable companies to meet achieve their digital innovation agendas.
The nearshore services industry needed to shift focus to delivering greater value, applied innovation, and providing high-end, creative software development services.
But how far have we really come to realising this vision?
To help find out we have organized a webinar in advance of the Nexus 2016 conference, between myself and Kirk Laughlin, Managing Director of Nearshore Americas, on Wednesday 20 April. We’ll be discussing:
- Does “nearshore” still work? Are Latin American service providers keeping up with the pace of change?
- How can innovative start-ups benefit from partners, and nearshore in particular?
- Why is there still some resistance from buyers to engage with Latin America? What do providers and buyers need to do to change this?
- Our vision for nearshore
- And more…!
You can follow the build-up, as well as the live webinar, on Twitter with the hashtag #Nearshore2016
