Luis Robbio receiving the IDEA Award for Enterprise Institutional Excellence
I’m delighted to be able to announce that Belatrix has won the Argentine IDEA Award for Enterprise Institutional Excellence. This award recognizes companies that have achieved excellence with respect to business management – assessing areas ranging from corporate governance, values, to transparency and company performance. It’s one of the most prestigious awards in the country for businesses, so this recognition means a great deal to me and everyone at Belatrix.
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this award possible. From our clients who trust us to work on some of their most important business initiatives, to all the Belatrix collaborators, whose excellence everyday never ceases to amaze me. Thank you.
For those of you not familiar with the IDEA Institute (Institute For Enterprise Development In Argentina), it is a key organization in Argentina which aims to promote the development of the business community in the country. By helping enterprises in this way, it in turn contributes to advancing economic and social life in the country.
Yesterday I attended the ceremony in Mar Del Plata, along with hundreds of business executives, journalists, and politicians. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to be able to discuss some of the progress Argentina is making with regard to our investments in technology, and in particular with how we can better encourage young people and students to focus on engineering and technical careers.
The country is making good progress, for example with initiatives led by Carlos Pallotti, and the aim of training over 111,000 programmers, engineers and entrepreneurs over the next three years. But we still have to be incredibly focused on being able to hire enough technical talent to serve our customers, who are hungry to work with the best of Argentine digital talent. Just today I was reading the October 2017 report by the Ministry of Production on knowledge based services in Argentina, which finds that the IT services market and export services continue to grow.
We’re in the midst of one of the most exciting times in technology that I can remember. We’re seeing businesses in industries ranging from finance, to retail, to industrial manufacturing, creating new services and creating new forms of value based on digital technologies. New business models are emerging. These technologies, from cloud computing, big data, to the internet of things, means organizations can serve their customers in fundamentally different ways than they could just a few years ago. Technology is changing the world in which we live – from business, to music and culture. It’s our responsibility to take the steps to ensure Argentina is at the forefront of this revolution.
