Real impact doesn´t happen in isolation, but requires a combination of action, teamwork and great ideas. Those ingredients came together in Belatrix´s Codefest 2014, an all day Hackathon held in Lima.
Passion and commitment, two of the most important values of Belatrix, were on display on Saturday November 15th in Codefest 2014, a Hackathon event organized by Belatrix.
The event was designed to promote collaboration, leadership and creativity. It brought together nearly 30 people from different backgrounds – from developers to business leaders to human resources. This mix of different perspectives helped ensure a wide diversity of ideas and opinions during the fun and dynamic event. Reflecting how mobile technology has become a cornerstone of all our lives, most of the ideas which emerged were related to mobile.
The winners of the event were chosen based on innovation, project progress and team maturity. The winning project was the “Reverse Sensor”. It was designed to help drivers park their cars, combining a newly developed sensor with an Android application. The product could be developed at a significantly lower cost than what is currently available on the market. It was a great example of developing a fully functional product in just 8 hours.

This was the first time Belatrix hosted such a big internal event, but based on the success, future events are already being planned. Belatrix´s mission is to become a global platform for social innovation and such events help bring together a range of new ideas.
